Bohol has seen two major rebellions against the Spanish in its history: the Tamblot uprising in 1621, and the Dagohoy rebellion in 1744, which would last for eighty-five years. In Tamgohoy, Roxlee tells the story of the Dagohoy rebellion in his own inimitable way: combining live action and animation, myth and fact, cinema and ritual, in a heady mix of artistic expression.
